Art classes for young people at Project Space are carefully designed to be both fun and teach essential elements of visual art. Even the very youngest students are introduced to concepts like color theory and temperature, tone values, form, line, art history and much more. These classes are the visual art equivalent of ballet or classical music lessons. They are for people who have a natural affinity for visual art and enjoy deeper study. The arts have powerful impact on the mental growth and well being of young people. Studies show that performance in many areas is improved when art is part of a student’s education. Classes advance with the students as they grow and will include opportunities to show their work and create portfolios for college applications.
